Iranian army spokesman: US cannot claim legitimate superpower status

The spokesman for the Iranian army, Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia, said that the war with Iran has proven that the United States cannot present itself as a legitimate superpower, noting that it has faced serious challenges in military and technological capabilities, as well as in ethical aspects, and has lost its standing.

According to Iran's IRNA news agency, the army spokesman added: "More than three decades after the collapse of the bipolar system, the world is now witnessing a rapid shift toward multipolarity more than ever before. In other words, the world is moving from an era of Western and American dominance to a post-American and post-Western order, where countries enjoy greater freedom and independence to secure their national security and interests, and nations live in a world free from injustice, bullying, and aggression."

He said that the contradiction between the so-called values of human rights and democracy and the inhumane conduct of the United States in the wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran has exposed its hypocrisy and destroyed the moral image maintained by what he described as the "evil American media empire."

Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia pointed out that the US, in its period of decline, has engaged in "aggressive" and "illegal" behavior to maintain its dominance, noting that ignoring international rules, such as interfering in the internal affairs of other countries and supporting the usurping and aggressive Zionist entity, has led to a decline in America's position in the international system. As a result, he said, the US has become an anxious, unstable, and troubled actor instead of a stable and effective power.

The Iranian army spokesman stressed that US threats against other countries have mainly shifted from traditional military forms to hybrid threats, saying: "These threats include a mix of political pressure, economic sanctions, information warfare, cyberattacks, and, of course, military attacks."

The Iranian military commander continued: "The current war and American aggression against Iran have clearly shown that cooperating with foreign parties and relying on imported security do not guarantee peace and stability in the region. This war has demonstrated America's disregard for the security and interests of regional countries."
