USS George Washington aircraft carrier begins operations in Middle East

The US aircraft carrier group USS George Washington has entered the US Central Command's area of operations in the Middle East and begun its activities in the region, according to a statement from CENTCOM.

CENTCOM clarified that the deployment of the carrier group is part of a previously scheduled mission.
