US military strikes dozens of Iranian Revolutionary Guard targets

The US military announced on Thursday that it had struck dozens of targets belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

In a statement, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed it had "successfully conducted a large wave of strikes against Iran at 10 p.m. Eastern Time on July 29, in response to attempted rocket attacks yesterday targeting US forces."

The statement added: "CENTCOM assets targeted dozens of sites belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard inside Iran, including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, surveillance and coastal defense sites, and naval capabilities."

It is worth noting that Iran announced last Tuesday it had fired on US bases in Jordan and at ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
