Trump hails 'great things' ahead after meeting with China's Xi

US President Donald Trump described his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping as "highly productive" for both the United States and China, affirming that "great things will happen between China and America." Trump made the remarks in a post on his Truth Social account on Friday, following a dinner he hosted at the White House in honor of the Chinese leader.

In his post, Trump mentioned a discussion on artificial intelligence, saying: "Like most people, he seemed to prefer calling artificial intelligence—which is an inaccurate name—by a more precise and significant term: superintelligence. That would truly be 'super'! Everyone agreed on that last night as well."

Trump had hosted an official dinner for Xi Jinping at the White House, attended by a number of business leaders, wealthy individuals, and influential figures, as well as prominent leaders from the technology sector.

The guest list included Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI chairman and co-founder Greg Brockman, and Dell Technologies chairman and CEO Michael Dell, along with several other notable figures.

The dinner coincided with Trump's emphasis that his meeting with Xi was productive for both countries, in a message focused on the future of US-China relations and the potential developments that may arise in the coming period.
