Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that Russian strikes had cut electricity to hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, while Russian authorities reported significant damage at an industrial site following Ukrainian drone attacks in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

According to Reuters, fighting has continued in other areas along the front line, and both sides have carried out long-range airstrikes, despite a six-day local ceasefire—now in its final day—around the Russian-held Ukrainian town of Oleshky.

Zelensky said Russia targeted energy infrastructure in four Ukrainian regions overnight, resulting in power outages for hundreds of thousands of homes. He emphasized that the strikes were extremely intense and accused Russia of seeking to exploit Ukraine’s shortage of ballistic missile interceptors to the fullest extent.

Posting on X, Zelensky added that Ukraine had targeted the Kamensky plant in Russia’s Rostov region, saying the facility is involved in manufacturing Russian missiles.

Moscow has not commented on the reported attack in Rostov, but Gleb Nikitin, governor of Nizhny Novgorod region, said a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack overnight caused "significant damage" to an industrial facility.

Meanwhile, Russia’s defense ministry said its forces shot down 235 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight. In response, Ukraine’s air force reported it had downed 371 out of 433 long-range drones launched by Russia since Saturday evening.
