Two Million Palm Trees in AlUla Produce 90,000 Tons of Dates Annually

AlUla, a Governorate famous for its tall palm trees, thanks to the fertility of its land and the abundance of the water resource, and a destination for international visitors from across the world, and a home for locals for hundreds of years who found in this historical province a source of livelihood.

Over 2 million palm trees are grown in the governorate, with an annual production exceeding 90,000 tons of dates including "Al-Barni" which is the most well-known kind of dates in addition to various other kinds.

The Royal Commission for Al-Ula organizes an annual festival, in cooperation with other relevant bodies, dedicated to dates, offering an opportunity for all palm farmers in the governorate to market their various palm products to the local and international markets.
