The Saudi Cabinet welcomes hosting GCC Summit

The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, welcomed in its session at Al-Yamamah Palace on Tuesday the hosting of the GCC Summit next Tuesday.

"The Riyadh summit will discuss all areas among member states," the Saudi cabinet said.

"The GCC welcomed the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to hold a meeting of the 40th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) next Tuesday in Riyadh," an official statement said.

"The Summit will be under the chairmanship of King Salman, to discuss important issues to enhance cooperation and integration among member states," the statement also said.

"It also discussed regional and international political developments and the security situation in the region," the official SPA news agency reported.

Saudi Program of the G20 for 2020

The cabinet said in its statement that the Kingdom reaffirms its commitment to continue to work towards achieving the goals of the G20.

The cabinet welcomed the Kingdom's commencement of the presidency of the G20 for 2020, praising the program prepared for this summit under the guidance of King Salman, under the supervision and follow-up of the Crown Prince.

Taking advantage of the Kingdom's position among the three continents during its hosting of the G20 in highlighting the perspective of the Middle East and North Africa, to form and promote the global consensus on international issues, and thanked Japan for its efforts and achievements during its presidency of the group in 2019.
