Iraq and Oman draw 1-1 in Gulf Cup opener in Jeddah

Iraq and Oman played to a 1-1 draw in their opening match of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, held today at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.

Iraq took an early lead in the 6th minute through Mohammed Qasim, but Oman equalized in the 67th minute with a goal from Nasser Al-Rawahi.

With this result, both teams earned their first point in Group A of the tournament.

Iraq dominated the first half and managed to go ahead, while Oman improved after the break and leveled the score. Both sides pressed for a winner, but the match ended in a draw.
