Brazil's Superior Court of Sports Justice announced on Wednesday that Santos captain Neymar has been suspended for two matches after covering his mouth during an altercation with a Bahia player in a 1-1 draw in the Brazilian Serie A.

The 34-year-old was sent off following a confrontation with Bahia midfielder Rodrigo Nestor. The court found Neymar guilty of violating the rule prohibiting players from covering their mouths during on-field disputes.

The court also noted that the referee's report stated Neymar approached the visiting team's bench after his dismissal to confront his opponent, and had to be restrained by his teammates.

As a result, Neymar will miss Santos' next three matches, as he is already suspended for Wednesday's league game against Palmeiras due to an accumulation of three yellow cards.
