The International Camel Racing Federation, chaired by Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, has announced its accession to the Alliance of Independent Recognized Members of Sport (AIMS) as an associate member, following the approval of its membership at the alliance's general assembly.

AIMS is a prominent organization within the international sports system, bringing together global sports federations to foster cooperation, support the development of member sports, and promote their growth. This membership offers the International Camel Racing Federation broader opportunities to exchange expertise and build partnerships.

The federation joined through the membership track dedicated to organizations focused on traditional and heritage sports, as part of its efforts to develop camel racing in line with international regulatory frameworks while preserving its cultural identity.

The president of the International Camel Racing Federation said: “I extend my gratitude to AIMS and its members for their trust and support in welcoming the federation as an associate member. The federation will continue its commitment to development, dialogue, and respect for the international sports system. This step marks an important milestone in our journey toward full membership in the alliance in the future.”

He emphasized that this achievement was made possible thanks to the full support provided by Saudi Arabia to the federation, including hosting its headquarters and activities, under the guidance of the leadership and the supervision of Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.

This development follows a series of rapid advances for camel racing internationally, including its inclusion in the program of the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain and the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, which has strengthened its presence in multi-sport events and enabled athletes and organizers to gain new experiences.

The federation continues to advance camel racing, adhering to animal welfare standards, participant safety, good governance, and sustainability, while expanding partnerships with international sports organizations and exploring opportunities to participate in more regional and global events.

The federation is also preparing to participate in the SportAccord conference, to be hosted in Baku in May 2027, to enhance engagement with the international sports community and build partnerships that support its aspirations for full AIMS membership and further establish camel racing’s global standing.
