Saudi coach Donis hails attacking progress after 3-0 win over Oman

Saudi Arabia head coach Donis said the national team delivered an impressive performance and maintained good positioning during the first half against Oman, noting that the players succeeded in pressing collectively after losing possession and waited for the right moment to score.

He made the remarks during the post-match press conference following the game held yesterday at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the second round of the group stage in the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup. The match ended with Saudi Arabia claiming a 3-0 victory.

Donis explained that he was not satisfied with the team's performance in the second half, pointing out that injuries to some players affected the squad and that Oman had several chances. He stressed the importance of maintaining consistent performance until the final whistle, while highlighting the Saudi team's attacking development.

He emphasized the importance of supporting the players and providing them with tactical and mental guidance, stating that every player is important to him and that the team's work is based on trust and continuous improvement.

Donis added that squad rotation is natural given the schedule of playing a match every three days, noting the need to rest players physically and work on developing certain aspects. He affirmed that building a strong team requires having more than 11 players ready to participate.
