Spain defeat England 3-2 in UEFA Nations League opener

Spain kicked off their UEFA Nations League campaign with a 3-2 victory over hosts England at Wembley Stadium, in Group A3 of League A.

Spain opened the scoring early through Lamin Yamal in the second minute, but England responded with goals from Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane in the 36th and 40th minutes. Kane missed a chance to extend England's lead in the 54th minute when his penalty struck the crossbar.

In the second half, substitute Alex Baena equalized for Spain in the 60th minute, before setting up fellow substitute Mikel Oyarzabal for the winning goal in the 74th minute.

With this win, Spain claimed their first three points of the tournament to top the group on goal difference ahead of Croatia, who beat the Czech Republic 2-1 in the same round.
