Oman star Al-Kaabi: Saudi clash will be tough in Gulf Cup group stage

Ahmed Al-Kaabi, a key player for Oman’s national football team, has highlighted the difficulty of their upcoming match against Saudi Arabia, set for Saturday in the second round of the Gulf Cup group stage.

Football fans across the Gulf are eagerly awaiting the high-stakes encounter between Saudi Arabia and Oman, which will take place on Saturday evening at Al-Inma Stadium as part of the second round of the Gulf Cup group stage, hosted by Saudi Arabia.

Speaking exclusively to Ajel, Al-Kaabi said: “Facing Saudi Arabia is extremely tough, especially since they are playing at home in front of their fans. We fully recognize the strength of the Saudi team and the quality of their players, but Oman is used to performing strongly in challenging situations like this.”

He added, “We have put the previous match behind us and are fully focused on tomorrow’s game. We have studied our opponent’s strengths and weaknesses, and, God willing, we will be at our best in terms of concentration and tactical discipline to achieve a result that meets the ambitions of Omani fans and makes them proud.”

Oman began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Iraq in the opening round, while Saudi Arabia secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kuwait.
