A Saudi PublicProsecution official source has said that the monitoring unit observed aTwitter user repeatedly tweeting about suspected corruption related to thecontrol and fire systems of the Haramain high-speed railway station in Jeddah,claiming he had documents proving the allegation.

The source said thatthe person who wrote the tweets was summoned by the department investigatingthese crimes to verify his allegations but it turned out he had no documentsproving his claims. It was also discovered that he never submitted anydocuments to the Public Prosecution concerning the matter.

The PublicProsecution also concluded through the course of the probe that the person hadbeen investigated in previous criminal cases.

In addition, theperson who posted the tweets was fired from his job due to labor proceduresbefore he reported alleged embezzlement cases. The company that employed him isnot in any way involved in the implementation of the Sulaymaniyah train stationproject in Jeddah.

The PublicProsecution said that it will verify whether there is any criminal suspicion inthe incident in accordance with regulations and instructions, while remainingcommitted to the principles of transparency and neutrality.
