Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture launched the second edition of the "National Cultural Awards" initiative, setting next December as the start date for receiving nominations from the public and the cultural community through the ad hoc e-platform.

The Ministry has declared December as the permanent date to receive nominations every year for each edition of the initiative.

The tracks include 14 cultural awards granted for remarkable cultural achievements of Saudi individuals or active cultural institutions, namely: the Cultural Personality of the Year Award, Youth Cultural Award, Cultural Institutions Award, Film Award, Fashion Award, Music Award, National Heritage Award, Literature Award, Theater and Performing Arts Award, Visual Arts Award, Architecture and Design Award, Culinary Arts Award, Publishing Award, and Translation Award.

The Ministry of Culture had launched the "National Cultural Awards" initiative within the Quality of Life Program, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs, to honor and celebrate cultural achievements and contributions of pioneers, groups and institutions in various cultural sectors.

The Ministry introduced the first edition of the initiative in June 2020 and announced the winners last April, in a ceremony held at the Culture Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.
