Saudi Minister of Health: 51 suspected cases test negative for Coronavirus

Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Health, affirmed that the samples of 51 people who were in contact with the citizen infected with new coronavirus (COVID-19) are negative, adding that the ministry still awaits the rest samples of 19 persons.

In a press briefing, Dr. Al-Rabiah disclosed that the ministry will follow up all 70 cases in the coming two weeks to ensure their safety and no emergence of any symptoms.

He affirmed that the condition of the infected citizen is stable and is isolated in the hospital with the intensive medical follow-up.

The Minister of Health pointed out that the committee concerned with following up on the status of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) holds daily meetings, asserting coordination among the members of the committee and all relevant governmental institutions to protect the Kingdom from the new Coronavirus.

Dr. Al-Rabiah urged all to take the information from reliable sources and the Ministry of Health, affirming the Kingdom’s commitment to disclose any new cases transparently.
