Saudi Human Rights Commission President participates in UN Human Rights Council’s session

The United Nations Human Rights Council kicked off here today its 46th session with the participation of President of Saudi Human Rights Commission, Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad.

In his inaugural speech at the session to last until March 23, the Secretary General of United Nations Antonio Guterres said that the COVID-19 pandemic has deepened inequality in economic, social and other human rights, stressing that the biggest losers are vulnerable groups such as women, minorities, people with disabilities, the elderly, refugees and immigrants. He noted that only 10 countries have received 75% of all vaccines, and 130 countries have not received a single vaccine.
