Saudi Crown Prince speaks for the first time since Abqaiq–Khurais attack

TheSaudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, PrinceMohammad bin Salman, said that he agreed with US Secretary of State, MikePompeo that what Iran has done is an act of war, declaring that the Abqaiq-Khuraisterrorist attack hit the heart of the world's energy supplies, not only SaudiArabia's one.

"TheAbqaiq-Khurais terrorist attack is a foolish act as it targeted 5% of theworld's supplies. The political and peaceful solution is much better than the militaryone, stressing that a war between Saudi Arabia and Iran would lead to thecollapse of the global economy," the Crown Prince said during a 60 minutesinterview with Norah O'Donnell, the anchor of CBS Evening News.

TheCrown Prince also warned that oil would reach price hikes if the world did notmeet to deter Iran. "If the world does not take a strong position to deterIran, we will see further escalation," he said.

TheCrown Prince also discussed the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi andthe ensuing trial in Saudi Arabia, the war in Yemen, escalation with Iran,women's rights, and Saudi Arabia's legal infrastructure.

PrinceMohammad pointed out that the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi is a heinouscrime, and will hold all those involved accountable, stressing that justicewill take its course in this matter.

The CrownPrince added: "As a leader I have to be optimistic every day".

OnYemen, the crown prince noted that a political solution would be easier in thiscountry if Iran stopped supporting Houthi militias.
