The 13th Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of SmallEuropean States concluded yesterday in Cyprus with the participation of theSaudi Shura Council delegation headed by Deputy Speaker Dr. Abdullah bin SalimAl-Maatani and the Councils of Kuwait, Oman, Egypt and Palestine.
The conference stressed that the purpose of this gatheringis to exchange views, discuss issues of common concern, and convey positiveexperiences among nations.
The conference also affirmed the keenness of small Europeancountries to develop relations with Arab countries and the Middle East ingeneral, and the aspiration to further openness to the countries of the MiddleEast, and the importance of the role of parliamentary diplomacy in reachinglegislative frameworks that serve common interests.
