Minister of Finance Mohammed binAbdullah Al-Jadaan said that Saudi Arabia takes over the presidency of theGroup of Twenty at a time when the world faces difficult challenges, such asgeopolitical issues and technological turmoil, climate change and fluctuationin external debt, and at the same time, the world is growing moreinterconnected, while a country faces a challenge, its crises may spread toother countries.
Speaking at the World Economic Forumduring a session dealing with the Saudi presidency of the Group of Twenty, healso said that this global scene necessitates consensus in order to findsolutions to global crises and to take advantage of the opportunities that theworld abounds in.
He pointed out that the plan wasbased on three main goals, namely empowering people, preserving the environmentand the planet, and shaping new horizons by taking advantage of technology toserve the peoples of the world.
