Saudi Arabia's cabinet, in its session in Riyadh on Tuesday, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz renewed Saudi Arabia's utter rejection of US government statements on Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
The Cabinetalso affirmed that Israel's construction of settlements on Palestinianterritories is contrary to the resolutions of international legitimacy andinternational law, pointing out that achieving lasting peace requires thePalestinian people to have their full legitimate rights, in accordance with theArab Peace Initiative and the resolutions of international legitimacy.
USSecretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday that his country no longerconsiders Israeli settlements "inconsistent with international law"in a shift in Washington's foreign policy.
Inaddition, Saudi Arabia's Cabinet condemned Iran for its continued violations ofthe 2015 nuclear deal and other international conventions and treaties relatedto its nuclear program.
TheCabinet also welcomed the statement of the Joint Ministerial Statement of thethree European parties to the Agreement, the representative of the EuropeanUnion, and the US decision to end the exemption of Iran's Fordow nuclearfacility from sanctions.
TheCabinet stressed the need for the international community to take a similarfirm stance towards Iran's excesses as it undermines international security andpeace.
Onthe other hand, the Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding on politicalconsultations between the Saudi and Kyrgyz foreign ministries.
With regard to Saudi internal affairs, the cabinetpaid tribute to King Salman's annual address to the Shura Council last week, hailinghis highlighting of the Kingdom's firm internal and foreign policies, whichtrace back their roots to the Kingdom's founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman.
The cabinet also congratulated the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the 50th anniversary of its establishment.
The OIC has strived to safeguard the interests of the Muslim nation, transforming into the second largest organization in the world after the United Nations.
