Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal reach the AFC Champions League last 16, Al-Ahli wait

Al-Hilal have booked their place in the Asia Champions League last 16 round after beating Al-Ain of the UAE 2-0 in the 5th round of Group C  games, while Al-Ahli lost to Qatari side Al-Saad in the same round of the tournament.

Al-Ahly still have fragile chance to qualify to the tournament’s last 16 as they will play the last game at home.

Hattan Bahabri scored for Al-Hilal after only 14 seconds to record the tournament’s second fastest goal so far before Mohammed Al-Shalhoob tightened the lead of his team in the second half.

On the other hand, Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia lost in Doha for Al-Sadd of Qatar 2-1 to rank third, leaving the first and second ranks for Al-Sadd and Baktakor of Uzbekistan.

Al-Ahly’s win-only last chance to advance to the 16th round remains glittering when it meets with the Uzbek team later in the tournament.
