Libyan government condemns Houthi drone attack attempt on Makkah

Libya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has condemned the attempted drone attack on Makkah by the Houthi militia.

The ministry reiterated Libya's firm rejection of any attempts to target the Muslim holy city or undermine the sanctity and religious significance of sacred sites for all Muslims, according to the Libyan News Agency.

The ministry reaffirmed Libya's unwavering support for Saudi Arabia and its backing for all measures the Kingdom takes to protect the Two Holy Mosques, safeguard its security and stability, and ensure the safety of its citizens and residents.

The statement also called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by taking necessary actions to maintain international peace and security, respect the sanctity of holy sites, and prevent the recurrence of acts that threaten regional security and stability.
