Fog, rain and dust storms forecast for Eastern Province and Najran

The National Center for Meteorology issued a warning today of dense fog affecting the Eastern Province, including the cities of Dammam and Dhahran, as well as the governorates of Jubail, Ras Tanura, Qatif, Khobar, Buqayq, Al-‘Ulayyid, Al-Ahsa, Al-Hijr and their surrounding areas. The fog has reduced horizontal visibility to between 1 and 3 kilometers on highways and open areas. The condition is expected to persist until 8 a.m.

The center also cautioned of light rain accompanied by strong winds in the governorates of Hafar Al-Batin, Khafji, An-Nairyah, and Qaryat Al-Ulya, which may stir up dust and further reduce visibility to between 1 and 3 kilometers on highways and open areas, as well as cause higher waves along coastal areas. This weather is expected to continue until 9 p.m.

Additionally, the National Center for Meteorology warned of blowing dust in Najran region, accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 40 to 49 kilometers per hour. This will reduce visibility to between 3 and 5 kilometers in Najran city and the governorates of Badr Al-Janoub, Yadamah, Thar, Habouna, and Khubash.

The center stated that these conditions are expected to last until 7 p.m.
