Turkish chief of staff to visit Saudi Arabia for Makkah Agreement talks

Turkey’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that Chief of the General Staff General Selcuk Bayraktaroğlu will travel to Saudi Arabia to meet with his Saudi and Pakistani counterparts as part of the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had earlier stated that the chiefs of staff would hold an urgent meeting to discuss ways to support Riyadh under the defense pact.

Meanwhile, the official spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, said Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed six ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia in an attempt to target the cities of Taif and Yanbu.

Al-Maliki explained that the air defense systems successfully neutralized the threat and prevented attacks on civilian facilities in both cities.
