Death sentence carried out in Eastern Province for murder

The Ministry of Interior today issued a statement regarding the implementation of the death sentence against a convicted individual in the Eastern Province. The statement reads as follows:

God Almighty said: "O you who have believed, prescribed for you is legal retribution for those murdered."

He also said: "And there is for you in legal retribution [saving of] life, O people of understanding, that you may become righteous."

Majdal bin Ali bin Hussein Al-Majdal Al-Khalidi, a Saudi national, committed the murder of Mohammed bin Amer bin Leil Al-Khalidi, also a Saudi national, by shooting him, resulting in his death.

Thanks to God, security authorities were able to arrest the perpetrator. Following an investigation, he was charged with the crime. Upon referral to the competent court, a verdict was issued confirming his guilt and sentencing him to death in retribution. The ruling became final after appeal and was upheld by the Supreme Court. A royal order was then issued to enforce the sentence as prescribed by Islamic law and approved by the relevant authorities.

The death sentence was carried out against Majdal bin Ali bin Hussein Al-Majdal Al-Khalidi, a Saudi national, on Wednesday, 5 Rabi’ Al-Thani 1448 AH, corresponding to September 16, 2026, in the Eastern Province.

The Ministry of Interior, in announcing this, affirms the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to maintaining security, upholding justice, and implementing Islamic law against anyone who attacks the innocent, sheds blood, or violates the right to life. The ministry also warns that anyone who contemplates such acts will face the prescribed legal punishment.
