Political analyst Sami Al-Morshed described the visit of Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman to Tehran as an extension of Saudi Arabia’s approach that advocates dialogue and peaceful solutions, stressing that Riyadh remains committed to a path that rejects the expansion of military confrontations in the region.

Speaking to Al-Ekhbariya TV, Al-Morshed said this approach is based on "rejecting the escalation of military conflict and working to safeguard the security and stability of the region."

Prince Khalid bin Salman is leading the Saudi delegation at meetings hosted in the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday. The talks bring together representatives of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement countries and Iranian officials, with the participation of Pakistan’s army chief General Asim Munir and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin.

The meetings are part of efforts by the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement states to de-escalate the current crisis, encourage dialogue and diplomatic solutions, and support mediation efforts led by Qatar and Pakistan.

These initiatives aim to strengthen the pivotal role of the agreement’s member states in supporting regional security and stability, and to work with other countries in the region to achieve this goal.
