Saudi Arabia wins UN award for land restoration leadership

The Agricultural Development Fund said Saudi Arabia’s win of the United Nations Award for World Restoration Flagships confirms the Kingdom’s ongoing progress in land rehabilitation, expanding vegetation cover, and preserving ecosystems.

The Fund added that the recognition reflects Saudi Arabia’s leading role in tackling environmental challenges and promoting sustainability, in line with the Saudi Green Initiative’s objectives. It noted that these efforts demonstrate a national commitment to environmental protection, land restoration, and enhancing plant cover.
