WHO nominates Dr. Balkhy as Regional Director for Eastern Mediterranean

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced the appointment of Dr. Hanan Balkhy as the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean after receiving the majority of votes from member states during the 70th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, held in Cairo from October 9 to 12.

 This nomination is an extension of the excellence and leadership of Saudi competencies in the health field at the local and international levels in light of the wise leadership's support.

 It also comes as a reflection of the empowerment that women have enjoyed throughout the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in light of the Saudi Vision 2030, where Saudi women assume high-level leadership positions locally and internationally in various fields, especially in the medical field.
