Map launched documenting mosques where Prophet prayed in Madinah

The King Abdulaziz Foundation has published a map through the Historical Atlas of the Prophet’s Biography, documenting the most prominent mosques and locations where the Prophet Muhammad prayed in Madinah. The map details their sites and geographic distribution across the city.

The map features several mosques and landmarks associated with the Prophet’s life, including Masjid Al-Fath, Masjid Bani Harithah, Masjid Bani Salamah (Al-Qiblatain), Masjid Bani Haram, Masjid Juhaynah, Masjid Bani Zuraik, Masjid Al-Musalla (Al-Ghamamah), Masjid Al-Suqya, and Masjid Bani Khudrah, along with other related mosques and sites.

Atlas officials explained that the map provides valuable documentation for those interested in the Prophet’s biography and the history of Madinah. It allows users to identify these sites and analyze their geographic distribution within the historical boundaries of the city, and to connect them with events and incidents mentioned in Seerah sources.

Initiative part of Saudi Vision 2030

The Historical Atlas of the Prophet’s Biography is one of the King Abdulaziz Foundation’s initiatives under the Guests of God Service Program, part of Saudi Vision 2030. The project utilizes maps, historical and geographic data, and modern technologies to document sites and landmarks linked to the Prophet’s life.

The initiative aims to present these landmarks in a clear spatial format, enhancing knowledge of Madinah’s history and sites, and enriching the experience of pilgrims.
