South Korea condemns Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, urges immediate halt

South Korea has condemned the recent attacks carried out by the Houthi militia targeting civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia, and called for an immediate halt to these assaults.

In a statement, the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "We condemn the Houthi attacks that targeted civilians and economic facilities in the southern region of the Kingdom, which resulted in a number of civilian injuries," expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of these attacks.

According to the Yonhap news agency, the ministry added that attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as actions undermining the freedom and safety of navigation, cannot be justified under any circumstances, urging the Houthis to immediately cease such assaults.

The ministry stressed that peace and stability in the Middle East, including ensuring the freedom and safety of navigation in the Red Sea, are of utmost importance to the international community, particularly in terms of global supply chains and energy security.
