Over 56,000 Captagon pills seized in foiled smuggling attempt at Duba Port

Saudi customs officials at Duba Port have thwarted an attempt to smuggle 56,680 amphetamine pills, known as Captagon, which were discovered hidden inside a truck arriving in the Kingdom through the port.

Spokesman for the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Hamoud Al-Harbi, said that when the truck arrived at Duba Port and underwent customs procedures, including security screening and live inspection methods, the pills were found concealed in various parts of the vehicle.

Al-Harbi stressed that the authority remains committed to strict customs control at all Saudi entry and exit points, standing firm against smuggling attempts. This effort is part of its strategy to enhance community security and protection, and to curb the trafficking of such substances and other contraband, in cooperation with partners including the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

He also called on the public to help combat smuggling and protect society and the national economy by reporting suspicious activities to the authority via the designated security hotline (1910), email (@zatca.gov.sa), or the international number (009661910). Reports are treated confidentially, and informants may receive a financial reward if their information proves accurate.
