Weqaa intensifies field inspections for fall armyworm in Al-Jouf maize fields

Field teams from the National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (Weqaa) in Al-Jouf are continuing their field inspections to monitor the fall armyworm in maize fields. The aim is early detection of infestations, assessing crop conditions, and implementing timely preventive and control measures.

According to a statement by the center on its X platform account, the objectives include monitoring and analyzing traps for fall armyworm within the fields, evaluating the level of pest presence, and detecting any early hotspots to limit the spread among crops. The teams also conduct field examinations of maize fields to assess plant health and ensure the safety of the agricultural yield.
