Justice Ministry research center publishes four-part civil transactions law guide

The Research Center at the Ministry of Justice, with the approval of Minister of Justice Dr. Walid Al-Samaani, has published a four-part explanatory guide to the Civil Transactions Law. This marks the center’s third release in its legal commentary series, following guides to the Evidence Law and the Personal Status Law.

The first volume covers the preliminary section and sources of obligation, while the second addresses the provisions of obligations. The third part is dedicated to nominated contracts, and the fourth discusses property rights and final provisions.

Guide details and objectives

The guide aims to clarify the law’s provisions and their meanings, supporting accurate application to real cases and contributing to the stability of transactions and the quality of judicial rulings. It also seeks to enrich the legal environment with specialized knowledge.

The commentary provides detailed analysis of each article, defining key terms, outlining conditions for application and their effects, and offering illustrative examples. It distinguishes between cases covered by each article and those that are not.

The guide also links the law’s articles to related legislation, explains the consequences of violating its provisions, and identifies which rules are public order provisions that cannot be contractually waived.
