Turkey condemns Houthi drone attack targeting Makkah

Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the Houthi drone attack targeting the holy city of Makkah.

The ministry reiterated its support for the sovereignty and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and called for an immediate halt to Houthi attacks that threaten regional stability and security.

Earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom's condemnation and denunciation of the launch of a hostile drone by the Houthi militia towards Makkah on Tuesday, Rabi Al-Akhir 4, 1448 AH, corresponding to September 15, 2026.

Saudi Arabia stressed that this cowardly terrorist attack against the holy city—the birthplace of Islam and the direction of Muslim prayer—constitutes a repeated violation by the Houthi militia of sacred sites and a provocation to Muslims worldwide. The Kingdom noted that this was the second attempt to target Makkah, following a previous incident on July 27, 2017.
