King Salman condemns Houthi attempt to target Mecca, praises security forces

King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired a cabinet session in Jeddah today, where he commended the role of Saudi Arabia’s military and security sectors and their brave personnel in defending the nation and firmly confronting any attack on holy sites, pilgrims, citizens, and residents in the Kingdom.

The king expressed his condemnation of the latest attempt by the Houthi militia to target Mecca, an act that has drawn widespread international criticism and denunciation.

He stressed that this reprehensible act, violating the sanctity of the holy sites, is a provocation to the feelings of Muslims worldwide.
