Two arrested for unlicensed hunting in Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve

Field patrols from the Special Forces for Environmental Security, while enforcing environmental regulations in the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve, apprehended two Saudi nationals for hunting without a license. The pair were found in possession of two air rifles, 52 hunted wild animals, and 250 rounds of air gun ammunition. They were detained, legal procedures were taken against them, and they were referred to the relevant authorities.

The Special Forces for Environmental Security stressed the importance of adhering to environmental laws and executive regulations, which prohibit the hunting of wild animals. The authority noted that the penalty for hunting without a license is a fine of 10,000 riyals (SAR), while hunting in prohibited areas carries a 5,000 riyal fine. Hunting a turtle dove without a license also incurs a 5,000 riyal fine.

The authority urged the public to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. All reports will be treated confidentially, with no liability for the informant.
