Saudi man arrested for lighting fire outside designated area in Prince Mohammed bin Salman Reserve

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have detained a Saudi citizen for violating environmental regulations by lighting a fire outside designated areas in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Royal Reserve. Legal measures have been taken against him.

The forces stated that lighting fires outside designated areas in forests and national parks is punishable by a fine of up to 3,000 riyals (SAR). They urged the public to report any environmental or wildlife violations by calling 911 in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality and without liability for the informant.
