Saudi Arabia joins high-level roundtable on peace and early recovery in Gaza

Representing the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Manal Radwan, Special Envoy for Negotiations and Peace Efforts, participated in the high-level roundtable "From Sharm El-Sheikh to the Second Phase: Consolidating Peace and Early Recovery." The event was organized by Egypt, co-chaired with France, Germany, and the European Commission, at Egypt’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, with the participation of regional and international partners, as well as representatives from several UN organizations and the Peace Council.

Dr. Radwan praised Egypt’s efforts to support the cessation of hostilities, humanitarian response, early recovery, and reconstruction in Gaza. She emphasized the need for all parties to fully adhere to the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit, complete the first phase, and proceed with the second phase of President Trump’s comprehensive plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, in a way that strengthens Palestinian ownership.

She noted that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has implemented nearly 160 projects in Palestine, valued at close to half a billion US dollars. Saudi Arabia has also provided $120 million in direct support to the Palestinian government, in addition to its ongoing support for UNRWA.

Dr. Radwan expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian situation as winter approaches, stressing the need for aid to enter without obstacles or preconditions, and rejecting the politicization of the humanitarian situation or its use as a tool for pressure or displacement of Palestinians.

She concluded by reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to working with its partners to accelerate early recovery, preserve the unity of Palestinian territory, strengthen Palestinian Authority institutions, and pave the way for a just and lasting peace.
