Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center issues over 141,000 permits in 2026

The Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center announced it has issued more than 141,000 permits since the beginning of 2026, as part of its efforts to regulate project activities and enhance compliance with approved standards and requirements.

In its monthly performance report for August 2026, the center stated that over 19,000 infrastructure permits were issued during the month, including 10,100 active permits currently under implementation.

The report noted that the total length of roads affected by project works in the region reached 1,133 kilometers, reflecting the scale of ongoing development across road networks, utilities, and infrastructure.

Regarding incident reports, the center received more than 8,000 reports in August, with 29% related to road subsidence, 26% to water accumulation, 11% to uncovered manholes, and 34% to other issues. The total number of reports since the start of the year has exceeded 190,000.

Field observations and quality improvement efforts

Field teams recorded several observations at project sites, including lack of site cleanliness, absence of warning lights, missing temporary barriers, and storage of materials outside designated areas. The center emphasized the need to strengthen compliance to improve execution quality and maintain site safety.
