The Ministry of Education has issued a circular detailing the integration of sick leave with the Seha platform via the Faris system, outlining how to use the service and the procedures to follow when registering sick leave or addressing issues with leave data.

According to information reviewed by Ajel, the ministry explained in the circular that Seha is a national electronic platform operated by the Ministry of Health. It enables the issuance and verification of sick leave electronically and links this data with government and private entities, enhancing the reliability of sick leave documentation.

The ministry stated that the integration allows sick leave data to be automatically transferred from the Seha platform to the Faris system once the leave is issued and approved by the healthcare facility, helping to speed up procedures and improve data accuracy.

The ministry noted that employees can use the service by logging into the Faris system, selecting "Employee Self-Service," then "Leaves," followed by "Sick Leave," and entering the service code, which is the medical report number. The sick leave details, including start and end dates, will then appear.

It confirmed that sick leave data is reflected directly in the Faris system after approval in Seha, and appears upon entering the service code. There is no need to attach the medical report or upload it manually, as the data is transferred electronically from Seha to Faris.

If the sick leave does not appear in the Faris system, the ministry advised verifying the service code (medical report number), the start and end dates, and other required information, then trying again. If the issue persists, a support ticket should be submitted through the unified support channel.

If sick leave data appears incorrectly in Faris, the ministry said to check the leave details in Seha. If the data matches, contact the healthcare provider that issued the leave to request corrections, then verify the update in Faris.

The ministry emphasized that sick leave data cannot be edited within Faris, as it is imported from Seha. Any changes must be made by the healthcare provider that issued the sick leave.

It also stressed that the appearance of sick leave in Faris does not mean it is automatically approved; approval is granted only after verifying compliance with regulations and after the leave is officially processed.

The ministry explained that more than one sick leave can be registered in Faris, according to the report issued by Seha and the specified periods, provided this complies with approved regulations. Overlapping leaves are managed according to the type and period of each leave, in line with the rules.

Regarding the duration of sick leave, the ministry clarified that employees are not required to use the full period specified in the medical report. Fewer days can be recorded, as long as the remaining days fall within the period stated in the Seha-issued report.

The ministry also noted that unused days from a sick leave cannot be used later, as the leave is tied to the period specified in the approved medical report. Unused days after the end of that period are not valid.
