First Saudi robot Sara speaks in local dialect

In a Saudi dialect, the first Saudi robot Sara welcomes visitors to the Saudi Digital Pavilion who are participating in the activities of LEAP 2023, an international technical conference.

In its second edition, LEAP 2023 was launched Monday at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center under the title “Towards New Horizons” and continues until Feb. 9, 2023. The robot Sara was manufactured in cooperation between Saudi Digital and Qss Company, and it can communicate with all visitors, interact with them, perform all popular dances, and respond to visitors’ inquiries.

Sara contains a camera that works with artificial intelligence, can recognize the distance of people standing in front of it, and starts the dialogue session after the visitor welcomes it with the phrase “Hello Sarah.” The robot also contains a pre-trained model that recognizes the different Saudi dialects, analyzes sentences and understands their content, then provides the appropriate answer and sends it in the form of text.
