Makkah Municipality steps up school area preparations as students return

The Makkah Municipality has ramped up efforts to prepare the surroundings of educational facilities in the city, coinciding with students’ return to school for the new academic year. The municipality stated that these preparations aim to provide a safe and suitable environment around schools, meeting the requirements for the start of classes.

The municipality explained that the readiness measures include school entrances and their surroundings, as well as monitoring the condition of roads, facilities, and walkways near educational institutions. These steps are part of a comprehensive plan to welcome the new school year and enhance the readiness of sites for students.

The municipality added that improving the areas around schools is part of its broader work related to public facilities and services, through ongoing site inspections and ensuring all elements are ready, to guarantee a safe and appropriate environment as classes begin.

The municipality also noted that these efforts are aligned with the “Saleem wa Jameela” initiative, launched alongside the return to school. The initiative aims to instill positive behaviors among students and raise awareness about cleanliness and the preservation of public facilities. It encourages responsible practices through age-appropriate educational methods, fostering student participation in maintaining the cleanliness of facilities and their surroundings.
