Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif voices full support for Saudi Arabia after call with crown prince

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his country’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, reiterating Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the recent Houthi attacks targeting the Kingdom’s civil and economic infrastructure.

In a post on his X account, Sharif said he spoke by phone on Monday evening with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, during which he expressed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Saudi leadership and people.

He added that “these reckless acts threaten regional peace and stability,” warning that their consequences could be severe for the global economy and energy security.

The prime minister also expressed his appreciation for the crown prince’s leadership, praising his wisdom and vision during these challenging times.

Sharif stressed that Pakistan, in cooperation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, will continue efforts to help de-escalate tensions and promote peace and stability in the region.
