Makkah joint defense pact unites efforts against regional threats: Saudi FM

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan has said that the signing of the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif underscores the depth of the fraternal and strategic relations among the three countries.

Writing on his account on the X platform, the foreign minister stated that the agreement marks a significant milestone in defense cooperation between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, and crowns their shared desire to unify efforts in facing challenges and threats to the region’s security and stability.

He added that the agreement reflects the shared political will of the three nations to safeguard security and stability, and to support a safer regional environment that benefits their countries and peoples.

Makkah hosted the joint defense summit between Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Turkey, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, with the participation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
