Ending Houthi armed terrorism key to political solution, says Saudi envoy to US

Saudi Ambassador to the United States Reema bint Bandar said that ending the armed terrorism carried out by the Houthis is the only path to a Yemeni-led political settlement.

She added that the Houthis must be designated as terrorists in all capitals, their sources of funding cut off, and weapons supplies prevented. The international community, she said, should set a clear goal to end the Houthis' presence as an armed terrorist group, according to Al Arabiya.

The ambassador also stated that the Houthis resemble what Daesh was before it seized control of Mosul in Iraq.
