Yemeni foreign minister praises Saudi support for Yemen’s people and leadership

Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Afrah Al-Zouba expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership.

The minister added that Yemen is working with its partners in the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by Saudi Arabia, and with international partners, on the basis that partnership strengthens the state’s capacity rather than replacing its responsibilities. She noted that national unity does not mean suspending review and accountability, but rather requires addressing disagreements and errors within institutions to prevent them from becoming vulnerabilities that could benefit the Houthi project, according to Sputnik.

Al-Zouba also stressed that Egypt is a key Arab partner whose role complements Saudi Arabia’s pivotal position and the UN-led process. She also praised Russia’s support for freedom of navigation at the UN Security Council, expressing hope that Moscow would contribute to a unified international stance against attacks on maritime navigation.

The minister emphasized that the only path to stability in Yemen is to end the coup and restore state institutions in line with agreed-upon references, foremost among them UN Security Council Resolution 2216.
