Syria condemns Houthi drone attack attempt on Makkah

Syria has strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s attempted drone attack targeting the city of Makkah, stressing that any threat to the security of Makkah, the holiest site in Islam, or endangerment of pilgrims, residents, and citizens, constitutes a serious violation of the sanctity of holy places and a provocation to Muslims worldwide.

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Syria’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and affirmed its support for the Kingdom in confronting threats from the Houthi militia.

The ministry reiterated Syria’s backing for any decision Saudi Arabia takes to safeguard the security of the Two Holy Mosques, emphasizing the need to respect their sanctity and shield them from the consequences of regional conflicts, in order to preserve the holiness of these sacred sites.
