The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have announced Sunday that the two sides provide a joint package of assistance worth USD 3 billion to Sudan.
Theinitiative will see the deposit of USD 500 million into Sudan's central bank tostrengthen the country's liquidity to ease the pressure on the Sudanese poundand achieve more stability in the exchange rate.
Theremaining amount will be dedicated to support the people of Sudan, across food,medicines, and fuel derivatives.
Since Bashirwas ousted on April 11 by the army in response to months of mass streetprotests, the military rulers have resisted calls to transfer power to acivilian body.
