An official source at the Foreign Ministry expressed theKingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome of and satisfaction with the U.S. decision tohalt sanctions waivers for Iran's Fordow plant effective December 15,2019.
The source stressed that the kingdom supports the US stepbecause of its importance in addressing Iran's violations and breaches ofinternational conventions and treaties related to its nuclear program. It alsoreflects the legitimacy of the kingdom's concern about Iran's nuclearactivities in line with its position calling for the need for ensuring theimmediate return of sanctions in case Iran violates the nuclear agreement.
The source praised the US decision, stressing the need forthe international community to take a similar firm stand on Iran's excessesbecause they undermine international security and peace.
